It's Official
Well ladies and gentlemen...it is official. We are having our c-section on October 23rd at 7:45 AM at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. It is only 8 short weeks away...holy cow!
Congratulations!I have some good news myself. The Amniocentese showed negative results! No chromosomical defects. And we went to Shands Hospital in Gainesville,FL to meet some Specialists for Omphalocele...and our boy has just a little defect on the abdomen wall...just half of his bowel is outside! And no other birth defects! We are so happy and relieved.I'm in the 20th week of my pregnancy now and planning to renovate/decorate the nursery room...Jane
Congratulations Jane!! I know how much of a relief it is to get those kinds of results. It was after the amnio results where I too felt like I could start creating a room for our little guy too. I still have some difficult days but on the whole I do not even think of the omphalocele anymore...I just think about what it will be like to finally hold him for the first time.
Hi Morgan--i'm wondering if you have a baby that will eventually be treated at CHoP? We are expecting in October and our baby also has a giant omphalocele. We're needing to choose between Hershey Med and CHoP. I couldn't tell from your blog if you were planning to receive the baby's care at CHoP or not. Thanks! My email is katieaungst@gmail.com if you need to get in touch with me that way.
